Tangled Up in Clay! Throwing Pots
Tangled Up in Clay- Throwing Pots with Ann Laird Jones: In this throwing class we will, focus thrown forms such as bowls, cups, and vases. We will trim, carve, amend, add, and bases, put things together in a new way! Our focus with be the marvel of clay, its lyricism, its connections to life, and its ability to transform us. We will take a look at Celtic knots, and global symbols as we form our pieces. By week’s end your pots will be glazed and fired, ready to use, even as we are still being formed and reformed!

Ann Laird Jones loves the lyricism of clay, community, and creating art with Carl Horton. She also loves music, playing the violin, dreaming up liturgical art for worship, and touching the earth. She regularly commutes between Montreat Conference Center, where she is in her 31sr year as Arts Ministry Director, and Greenville, MS, where she is a minister member of St. Andrew Presbytery and Stated Supply Pastor of the Sumner Presbyterian Church. She is married to Mike Caulfield, and mother of Doug and Sally.
