Writing Words for Worship
In the beginning was the Word…but how can we use our words to worship the Word? Together we’ll practice writing liturgy in a variety of styles that speak with rhythm and wonder. Come use your words to worship God, and leave with liturgy you can use back home.
Julie Hester is a writer and Presbyterian pastor, married to a United Methodist pastor, who keeps her moving around North Carolina. Her current ministry is writing curriculum and offering writing prompts and workshops for people to write through grief, and as a spiritual practice. When she’s not writing words, she’s reading novels, walking an old anxious dog, cooking something tasty, or sending funny pics to her young adult children who are pretty amazing people even if they sleep in on Sunday mornings.
