Exploring Printmaking
Printmaking is a process of creating art by making an image and then transferring it with ink or paint to another surface such as paper or fabric.
We will be exploring the WONDERS of printmaking with different techniques such as gelli prints, monoprints, collographs, reliefs, and more. Stamps, stencils, and scrapers are just a few of the options for creating interesting prints, along with natural materials including grasses, leaves and petals with an interesting shape and texture, suitable for printing.
We will explore both positive and negative designs as well as depth and layers. There will be techniques for everyone from very basic ones that preschoolers can do to more advanced ones for those looking to expand their artistic horizons.
The focus will be on learning the techniques, the process, but you will also leave with some finished art pieces as we answer the big question … NOW WHAT DO I DO WITH ALL THESE PRINTS???"
Class Limit: 12 Materials Cost $35
