Justice, Faith and Art - Erika Funk
Faith informs both our justice work and our art work. This workshop will explore four different avenues for intersecting justice, faith and art. From smaller, more intimate creations to larger, public installations we’ll explore various ways individuals, small groups and the whole church can use faith and art experientially. We’ll experiment with personal creations for home or office, small group uses, church wide activities and community wide projects. Our time will be spent with some hands on time making stuff and some time brainstorming and developing ideas together.
Rev. Erika Funk is a graduate of UCLA and San Francisco Theological Seminary. She is a California girl living in Charlotte after seven years serving Broad Street Ministry in Philadelphia, PA. Currently Erika serves as the Director of Cross Missions at Myers Park Presbyterian Church. She is a single parent to two amazing kiddos who are semi-adults. She buys more books than she can read and gets caught up scrolling through tik tok when she should be sleeping.
